FastLatch Disclaimer
Until recently, state laws and codes prohibited any temporary door locking devices. But due to the overwhelming demand for active intruder protection, several states have approved bills to amend school codes to now allow these devices in classrooms. Due to some unruly individuals who may want to lock out supervisory personnel, most products on the market today are designed to be engaged only with a proprietary key or removable components which require additional time to secure a lockdown. It is evident that at the moment of an active intruder or active shooter event, all fine motor skills are lost thereby inhibiting the use of a proprietary tool or removable components. Although these types of lockdown products may be required to prevent the lock out of supervisors in certain classroom environments, most do not face this problem. With this being said, this product may not be suitable in all classrooms, but has proven to be an ideal common sense solution for the vast majority of lockdown requirements now approved in several states and many more to come. Although we have strived to meet all State and local codes and regulations, please confirm with your local agencies that FastLatch is an approved temporary door barricading device for your school or business before ordering or please contact us for more information.
